Banka Banka, NT

Made the most of the hot springs in Mataranka by going down again early this morning for a few ‘laps’. It’s just so pleasant and peaceful, until the mob turn up about 7.30am.

We had planned for an early start but with my swimming and Judy’s sleeping, it was almost 9am when we pulled out of the van park. Took our first break after 200km at Dunmarra Road House, got fuel, drank coffee and indulged in a pie and chips. Decadence.  Back on the road, the rig was just flying along, despite the headwind picking up again. We cruise at about a 100kph, but we came up to van after van and just drove right by them. Maybe they were in dawdle mode after a big lunch. Arrived at Banka Banka about 2.15pm and settled in. As we mentioned before, there’s no power but that’s just fine by us; for one night at least. I made a repeat tour of the waterhole, this time electing to come back the same way via the track, not the rocky ridge.

No snap today from Banka, but Iv'e posted some from yesterday from Mataranka
