Not that long ago, we had all the time in the world to prepare for our grand tout - now ts only 5 weeks away!!!!!
We've had the sitters over again for tea and to meet our neighbours Bev and John. Quite a pleasant few ours chatting about thins. They will come again closer to the day and of course we need to do a hand-over - you know - the door only works if you hold your face like his or the cat only eats out of the left side of a round bowl etc etc
We'veworked on our lists a lot. the van is almost finshed except for the seat cushions which we are having reupholstered by Dave Hough at Top Cat Upholstery. He's on pain of death if they are not finshed before Easter.
Had a UHF CB radio installed in the BMW by Watts Communications in Fyshwick, I couldn't see any sense in doing it myself and having a dodgy installation so left it to the experts. The radio is a top of the line ICOM 440 unit. Radio is good, the peopel who use it arond town are just dumbos.
What else is there? The backyard flooded again so more work on the drains, the roof has a leak which needs looking at, the ivy and wisteria have gone mental and need trimming at ground level. Rooms need to be sorted, stuff put away and while we're in the mddle of it, why not buy a new laptop?
The rain! Everywhere we are planning to go has been flooded - it never floods, it's the outback. It's supposed to be hot baking dry and yet here we are : Lake Mungo - flooded, Broken Hill - flooded and the list goes on. One supposes that at least we will see it in the wet and hopefully green and flower strewn and at worst we'll just have to go back a second tme to get that authentic outback feel.
It's all good though, when the day arrives we can safely pull out and be on our way. Whatever isn't ready will just have to be Ok.
