Darwin NT

Did we mention Berry Springs last year? It is a very popular Darwin institution being a huge picnic ground with three very large natural swimming areas that run together into one large waterhole.

After a very slow and relaxing start this morning, we drove the 30 odd km south to Berry Springs for a swim. Plenty of people there this time as we are right smack bang in the middle of the NT, QLD and WA school holidays. Because of the size of the waterhole, there is still plenty of room for everyone without being crowded. At first glance the water seemed a bit murkier than last year but it was only that it is much fuller and deeper. Not to worry, had a swim about, had a bicycle race on noodles (which I of course won as Brian has no forward motion at all) and checked out the fishes. Probably as many as last year with archer fish and grunters being prominent.

We couldn't help but notice a huge McDonald that looks like it has been open for about 5 minutes on the highway at Coolalinga about 25 kms from Darwin, so obviously that was a coffee spot on the way back after the swim. It doesn't matter what you say about Maccas, they do make a good coffee and you always know what you will get.

No snaps I'm afraid, didn't think to take a camera to the water hole.
