2015 Trip #1 - Perth

Holbrook NSW

So, finally, here we go again. We seem to have been packing the van for weeks, a process which intensified after we brought it back from Jayco where we had it serviced on Wednesday. Master Two demanded a last play with Poppy’s train, and who could say no?

Later we had a big dinner with the family, choking down truckloads of Turkish food, helped by liberal amounts of each ones favourite tipple.

The two smallest darleks (5 and 2yo) slept-over, God bless them, not retiring until well past my bedtime. At least they slept right through and at least one didn't wakeup till 830.

Back to final packing and fixing the house up and putting the cat into jail and saying hooroo to Nan and then hitching up the van and then on to lunch and returning the kids, parking the van out the front for a clean getaway.

After a lovely lunch with the family and a few farewells, we pulled out onto the road at 2pm and headed for Holbrook some 300km away.

We stopped at the damn dog-on-a-box for a coffee and a refresher. That trip from Yass, over the ranges and down to Gundagai in the later afternoon with full sunshine meant full vigilance to keep the yawns and snoozes at bay and I just needed a break.

No matter, wide awake again we pushed on and got into the great little park on the southern end of Holbrook about 530
