Finally ventured out after lunch. I had a hankering for a swim at the beach, but as you know, there are 10,000 things in the ocean here that will kill you as quick as look at you. So, we headed down to the city to the 'waterfront', where the wave pool is and also a 'lagoon' that is netted off from the bigger bities. In previous years there were people swimming in it and it sounds like a good idea, but, in the middle of the school holiday, 'they' decided it would be a good idea to dredge it. It wasn't closed, just full of filthy muddy slimy water instead of fresh crystal clear ocean.
Had a consolation coffee at the Coffee Club instead and solved the mysteries of life, except why they would dredge now of all times. The solution was to drive up to Nightcliff and use the public pool there, which in years past has been crystal clear, but coldish. This year it's still pristine, but as they now have thermal blankets for it, the water is a bit warmer at 26 degs. I took my time and did a few laps, boy oh boy, I had forgotten just how long 50 metres is!
After a long lay out in the sun, we went down to the Mindil Markets, which were just jam packed with people. All the same stalls and 'stuff' for sale, but Judy managed to winkle out a reasonable looking freshwater pearl necklace, and we booked our annual dinner cruise on the Cape Adieu yacht. Had a quick look at the sunset, but not too great today due to too much cloud, so jumped back and bought ourselves some pizza for dinner, which we ate sitting on the grass. Finally we emerged out into the car-park unscathed, extracted the car from the chaotic parking area and headed home for a nice cup of tea.
Sorry, still no snaps, waiting for inspiration to engulf me.
