South Mission Beach Qld August 1st 2023 Woke up to almost sunshine, so a walk along the beach was in order. Here are some snaps Sunrise, South Mission Beach Qld Sunrise, South Mission Beach Qld Sunrise, South Mission Beach Qld Back at the van park, there was a little bit of excitement as the resident Cassowaries came wandering through on their daily stroll. These birds are supposed to be dead dangerous, and they are, yet they seem perfectly content wandering through the caravan park. I was being brave and kept a sturdy 4x4 between them and me. Cassowaries, South Mission Beach Qld We went for a drive into "town', that's Mission beach proper, only to find even more shops closed and a decided lack of people wandering about the place. It's all a bit depressing really. Maybe it'll look better in the sunshine... Lunch was taken at the Bingle Bay Cafe, which is a few kilometres north of Mission Beach.
