Almost locals

We took ourselves off to Nightcliff Markets this morning. There are so many markets here to look at but you usually see the same stalls at all of them. The only difference is the atmosphere of the location where they are being held.  Nightcliff is actually quite nice being a lot shadier than other locations. We browsed the stalls and stopped for a coffee and muffin under the awnings under the spreading branches of the trees. We relaxed and solved all the problems of the world and then headed along the coast for a look at the northern suburbs.
After lunch back at the van, we headed back to Nightcliff as we had spied an actual swimming pool and we fancied doing a few laps. What a lovely discovery. The pool overlooks the sea and it seemed that the few people who were actually there were lap swimming, so no yahoos to spoil the tranquillity. Mind you it is a bit daunting trying to do laps in a 50 metre pool when you are used to only a 25 metre pool but a few laps we did. Brian did more than me! Being right on the coast, we had a lovely sea breeze to cool us down so could lay in the sun for a bit and do some reading. We left about 5.30 and as we now almost feel like locals, just had to head to Mindil Sunset markets with all the other locals for coffee, wood fired pizza and pancakes with berries for dessert, to sit on the grass listen to the music and watch the sunset. I think we will be back to both of these places again
