Marla SA South Australia

Early start to the 248km trudge across to the highway. Normally pretty dull, it was made even more tedious by the strong headwinds that also pushed the consumption backup to 20L /100k. Ouch. Stopped at Erldunda for a cuppa and some fuel before pushing on down to SA, stopping at some unnamed deserted rest area for a sandwich and then making it into Marla by 2:30. After 500 km in less than ideal conditions, enough was enough already, so we stopped for the night.

Another big day planned for tomorrow, so after a few ciders at the bar swapping travel yarns with the transient locals, we went back to the van for an early dinner and an early night.
