Camooweal Qld June 6, 2016

Just a transport day today - heading to Camooweal, a distance of 310, and reached at 1245. We are already wondering why we stop so early and seriously considered ‘pushing on’, but Barkly Homestead is another 260km further. If we stop, we face a 525km trip tomorrow to get to Banka Banka.

I’m not real flash, thanks to ERH and JRB and we pulled the pin on continuing, settling instead for a siesta. One thing that took us both by surprise is that it’s 34C right now. Ouch, that sun is wicked.

We had to amuse ourselves by going and looking at the fifty something free-campers down by the billabong. No, we’re still not ready for it, preferring, grassed sites, hot & cold running water, clean flushing toilets and the relative safety of the van-park. Mind you, the little scamps have put the price up to $32 for a powered site. Ah well, its money well spend, and beside they have ice-blocks in the shop!

All the free campers lined up along the billabong. Not as many as last time though. Camooweal Qld
