The road is good and we have it pretty much top ourselves as we pass Iron Knob, where the tailing pile is now almost as big as the knob itself. The pile looks like the cliffs at Rainbow Beach up in Queensland with its band of multi coloured soil, created as they work their way through the varying soils and rocks surrounding the ore body and dump the spoils.
We stopped for our first break at Kimba, took the obligatory snap of the silos and had a coffee at the roadhouse before pushing on to Poochera where we took our second stop, filled the car up and had a burger each.

Finally we pulled into Ceduna after only six hours on the run. Just limbering up for the run across the Nullarbor!
